Clear Cat Door

The Transcat Clear Cat Door is a standard cat door
The Transcat Clear Cat Door is found in homes all over Australia and has been installed for many years. During this time there has been advances in technology but the door still fits in the same size hole in the glass panel or door. The Transcat Clear Cat Door is designed to fit into the majority of door materials including Glass and wood.

The Transcat Clear Cat Door is one of the biggest cat doors available in Australia but it can also be used as a dog door for smaller breeds E.G. for miniature dogs.

The Transcat Clear Cat Door is constructed using tough, durable polycarbonate plastic.

The Transcat Clear Cat door -Installation Instructions

The Transcat Clear Cat Door are built to fit into glass doors and door panels from 3mm to 6mm of thick and into double glazed glass panels. Installation into slider type doors is possible where there is at least of clearance 7mm on the internal side of the sliding door. In this instance the cat door is mounted on the outside pane of glass.

A circular hole needs to be cut and where glass panels are used the glass can be cut by a glazier and your cat door fitted by any handyman or as aDIY project:

  1. The hole in the glass needs to be cut to the following size 267mm (10 and 1/2inches) in diameter.
  2. The two parts of the cat door are then clamped using the four bolts supplied with the glass between.
  3. The flap must be assembled on the outside
  4. Nuts only need tightening finger tight, to prevent stress being placed on the glass, this is tight enough to hold the door.
Installation instructions for the Transcat Clear Cat Door into Double Glazed Panel of Glass
A circular hole needs to be cut and where glass panels are used the glass can be cut by a glazier and your cat door fitted by any handyman or as a DIY project:

  1. The hole in the glass needs to be cut to the following size 267mm (10 and 1/2inches) in diameter. To maintain the integrity of the double glazing the hole cut should be sealed by a glazier.
  2. The two parts of the cat door are then clamped using the four bolts supplied with the glass between. Longer bolts need to be used because of the increase in depth created by the double glazed panels Bolts are available in 30mm, 35mm and 40mm sizes. The flap must be assembled on the outside.
  3. Nuts only need tightening finger tight, to prevent stress being placed on the glass, this is tight enough to hold the door.
Installation instructions for the Transcat Clear Cat door into solid wooden panels or doors
The hole size needs to be cut at approximately 247mm or 9 & ¾inches, the circumference ring is not required. Fit the Door using self-tapping screws (not supplied) to the face of the wood panel. The Adelaide 2000 clear cat door requires a 3-6mm thick supporting piece of plywood, positioned over a hole cut into the wooden door.
Cleaning the Transcat Clear Cat door
Remove the door and wash in warm soapy water using a soft cloth. Do not use any spray lubricants.
